Girls Tennis: North finishes 3rd in Raider Invite

By

Sheboygan North’s girls tennis team finished third in its Raider Invite Saturday, with Kohler and Sheboygan South taking sixth and eighth place, respectively.

North partners Alison Gress and Savanah Pond swept their No. 1 doubles bracket, finishing in first place after notching a 6-3, 6-3 win over opponents from Manitowoc in the championship.

North’s Allison Pond and Abigail Flasher took third in their No. 2 doubles bracket.

Kohler’s Audra Hoffmann, Elly Gutschow and Anna Mesalles finished third in their Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles brackets, respectively, to lead the Blue Bombers.

South’s Samantha Roelse finished seventh in her No. 4 singles bracket.

West Bend Invite

Three of Plymouth’s singles players and two of the team’s doubles pairings took second place in Saturday’s West Bend Invite.

Elizabeth Raeder, Chloe Kastelic and Elizabeth Bolland each finished 2-1 — good for second-place finishes — in their Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles spots, respectively.

Beth Brisson and Elle Klecka took second at No. 1 doubles, while Hannah Anhalt and Becca Franzen took second at No.3.

The Panthers posted 6-1 wins over Kewaskum and West Bend West, but lost 6-1 against West Bend East in their tournament-opening match.
