Glendale names Brian McTague as boys basketball coach

By

After one season at Branson, Brian McTague will take over as coach of the Glendale High School boys basketball program, where he previously was an assistant for eight years.

Springfield Public Schools announced the hiring today, just over a month after Sean Williamson stepped down from the post.

McTague led the Pirates to a Central Ozark Conference Large Division title in his one season with Branson, going 19-8.

Previously, he was coach at Clever for seven years, winning three district titles.

McTague graduated from Missouri State University and has a career record of 144-75.

McTague will become the fifth coach in Glendale’s history.

McTague’s hire is pending approval by board of Springfield Public Schools.
