AURORA – Regis Jesuit won its fourth consecutive Class 5A state golf tournament Tuesday at Murphy Creek Golf Course with ease, defeating the next closest team by 23 strokes.

The Raiders were led by Spencer Painton who won the individual event shooting 6-under par, and Jake Kelley tied for second with Legacy’s Li Chen, shooting 4-under par.

Painton, a senior who has committed to play golf at the University of Kansas next year, shot a 66 in the first round Monday and finished Tuesday with a second-round 72.

Ralston Valley finished in second place, and Cherry Creek was just two strokes behind for third.
