Gordon powers Mitty over Sheldon in Nor Cal Final

By

SACRAMENTO, CA – Aaron Gordon’s 29 points and 22 rebounds led San Jose’s Archbishop Mitty past the Sheldon Huskies 70-50 in the California Interscholastic Federation’s (CIF) Boys Open Division Northern California Regional Final on Saturday.

Gordon helped Mitty control the boards against Sheldon 40-33. He has yet to commit to a college, despite having scholarship offers from Kentucky, Washington, Arizona and Oregon. He’s already taken visits from Kentucky, Washington and Arizona.

The Huskies only trailed by six at halftime, but Mitty outscored Sheldon 17-8 in the third quarter to build a sizable lead.

The Huskies (27-6) were led by Antonio Lewis, who was the only Sheldon player to score in double figures. They finished the game shooting 30-percent.

Archbishop Mitty (28-5) will meet Mater Dei of Santa Ana in the CIF State Championship, to be played Saturday, Mar. 23 at 8:00 p.m. inside Sacramento’s Sleep Train Arena.
