Governor Livingston shines at Lakers Tournament

The Governor Livingston wrestling team crowned four individual champions among five finalists and captured the title of the Lakers Holiday Tournament at Mountain Lakes High School on Monday.

The Highlanders amassed 195 points to best the 12-team field. Plainfield placed fourth and J.F. Kennedy finished last.

Joseph Colder (120), Austin Senkarik (126), Ryan Hoy (138) and Sean Tomlinson (285) won their respective weight classes for Governor Livingston, according to MorrisCountyHSWrestling.com. Teammate Mike Matarredona (220) placed second.

Brandon Farrell claimed the 170-pound title for J.F. Kennedy with a 9-2 decision over Plainfield’s Derrick Washington, according to the web site, while Neo-Joe Lughas (152) won a title for the Cardinals.

Plainfield heavyweight Kyle Brookens placed second.
