Anything Anthony Grebe touches lately seems to turn to a goal.
The St. Mary’s Springs junior racked up four goals – he now has 10 in the last three games – as the Ledgers dispatched Fox Cities, 8-2, in a Badgerland Conference hockey game at the Blue Line Ice Center on Tuesday.
“Anthony is on fire,” Springs coach Tim Ahern said. “He is putting himself in great positions to score. People want to key on Connor (Blanck) and Anthony is killing them right now.”
Grebe also finished with two assists, both of which came in the first period as he helped set up goals by Mark Austin and Jackson Voight as the Ledgers took a 2-1 lead.
Then, after Zach McLaughlin opened the scoring in the second period, Grebe scored a pair of goals just 34 seconds apart. He added two more in the third period as the Ledgers pulled out to an 8-1 lead before Fox Cities got a goal for the final margin.
Cody Kast also scored for the Ledgers.
Blanck finished with six assists in the game and assisted on all four of Grebe’s goals. Austin also chipped in three assists in the win.
Andy Riehl stopped 22 shots in goal for the Ledgers, who have rattled off three straight wins to improve to 3-2 on the season.
