H.S. football: Red Hook tops Spackenkill

The Red Hook High School football team shined on defense in its 20-6 victory over Spackenkill Friday night, intercepting four Spartan passes.
“The defense just played awesome tonight,” said coach John Kravic. “Tim Terry stood out for us. He had a lot of tackles, switching from defensive end to middle linebacker.”
On the offensive side of the ball, Red Hook only completed one pass, but rushed for 279 yards. Nick Carlson and Dustin Ducey led the ground attack for the Raiders combining for 213 yards and two touchdowns. John Alessi who had 43 yards on the ground, added a 5-yard touchdown run of his own.
Spackenkill’s only score of the game game on a 52-yard pass from Abalos Camron to Billy Winnis with five minutes remaining. The Spartans (0-3) had 117 yards passing and 66 yard rushing.
Red Hook (2-1) will travel to Malboro on Friday to take on the
undefeated Iron Dukes.
