H.S. roundup: MMU doubles up BFA-St. Albans



Josh Walker and Brooks Gay scored five goals each to lead Mount Mansfield to a 14-7 win over BFA-St. Albans in high school boys lacrosse.

Carter Glenn added three goals and three assists for the Cougars (4-4).

Ben Boomhover had a hat trick and Cam Russell scored twice for BFA-St. Albans (2-6).

* South Burlington 17, Spaulding 3: Cam Notting had seven goals to pace South Burlington in a win over host Spaulding.

Sam Desutel added a hat trick for South Burlington (4-3). Jacob Tranan made five stops.

Jay Palmisano had 18 saves for Spaulding (0-8). Ryan Allen, Matt Clark-Blouin and Jon Killian each had a goal for the Tide.

* Middlebury 15, Burlington 7: Sam Usilton had six goals and one assist as Middlebury beat host Burlington.

Nathan Wulfman scored three goals and added an assist, and Bob Ritter scored three times for Middlebury (6-1).

Marley Heimert and Max Moreau each had two goals and Jesse Bouchard made nine stops for Burlington (2-6)

* Essex 14, Champlain Valley 8: Brendan Gleason scored four goals and added an assist as Essex beat visiting Champlain Valley.

James Olsen added two goals and four assists, while Thomas Vanzo, Ryan Forbes and Lub Leblanc eacg scored twice. Pat Abbott and Andrew Lounsbury combined for 12 saves for Essex (6-2).

Alex Bulla scored a hat trick and Owen Hudson made 14 stops for CVU (6-3). Steele Dubrul (assist), Matt Palmer, Nevin DiParlo, Cam Rivard and Jack Gingras also scored.

* Colchester 16, Mount Abraham 2: Quinn Trabulsy scored four goals and Ben Cross added three goals to lead Colchester to a win over Mount Abraham.

Josh Gervais and Kevin Lynch each had two goals for the Lakers (6-1) and Barry Bergeron and James St. Germaine combined to make nine saves.

Forrest Wallace and Ira Fisher each had a goal for Mount Abraham (2-5), while Patrick Brown made six stops.

Girls lacrosse

* Rice 14, Randolph 2: Gretchen Tarrant scored her 100th career point as Rice defeated visiting Randolph.

Tarrant had five goals and one assist, Katy Ranaldo added two goals and two assists and Jillian Varin scored twice for Rice (5-1).

Emme Rumor and Zoe Listro scored for Randolph (0-8).
