Clyde filled spots in nine weight classes and each wrestler placed in the top five as the Fliers finished third overall.
Conner Avalon (126), Austin Baker (138) and Beau Minnick (145) was each unbeaten for Clyde. Anthony Beier (132) was 4-1 to finish second, Blake Kent (106) was 3-2 to finish third and Grant Coleman (113) was fourth.
“We’ve asked some kids to step up in some tough spots and everybody has responded and given 100 percent,” Fliers coach Rob Jennings said. “We’ll see how things unfold starting Wednesday with a rivalry match. Hopefully everybody will be back for the big match with Bellevue.”
Grove City won the tournament Saturday.
The Redmen visit Clyde on Wednesday. The Fliers hope to have a full roster after the football team’s extended run into the postseason delayed the start for a few wrestlers.
