Harper Creek girls climb to No. 10 in Class B

By

The Harper Creek girls’ basketball team is ranked No. 10 in Class B, sitting at 14-1 on the season. The Beavers had been an honorable mention selection the past several weeks.

Harper Creek is the only area girls’ basketball team ranked in the top 10. Olivet, at 13-2, is also getting votes in Class B.

Harper Creek’s spot in the rankings was threatened last week as the Beavers played Marshall in a battle for first place in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference East Division. Harper Creek beat Marshall and now sits in first in the division alone.

In the boys’ poll, Climax-Scotts remains at No. 1 in Class D as the Panthers improved to 15-0 during the week. Climax-Scotts will face rival St. Philip on Friday.

No other area boys’ basketball team is ranked currently.
