Harpursville’s girls will try for a second Section 4 Class C basketball title in three years when they take on Unatego 1 p.m. Saturday at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The sixth-seeded Hornets are fresh off an 18-point semifinal win over second-seeded defending champion Elmira Notre Dame, with aid of 20 points from senior guard Savannah Murray.

Fifth-seeded Unatego advanced to its first sectional final since 1985 with a 48-44 semifinal win over Newfield. Casey Manzanero led the Spartans with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Junior forward Miranda Drummond heads Harpursville scorers with 21 points per game, followed by Murray’s 17.2 average. A season ago, the Hornets absorbed their lone loss of the season to Elmira Notre Dame in the title game.

C Boys: Moravia vs. Watkins Glen, 3:15: Fourth-seeded Moravia was an 85-41 semifinal winner over Odessa-Montour with freshman Jared Lyon’s 25 points including six of his team’s 3-point goals. Moravia claimed sectional titles in 2010 and 2011.

Second-seeded Watkins Glen got a combined 35 points from brothers Jesse and Josh Teeter in its 55-50 semifinal win over Elmira Notre Dame.
