Harvey's dynamics send New Providence past Belvidere

New Providence 34, Belvidere 7: It’s only two weeks into the season, but Jack Harvey has emerged as one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the Mid-State 38.

The junior quarterback followed up last week’s 198-yard, one touchdown performance with an incrementally superior display. Harvey threw a trio of TD strikes and compiled 233 yards from scrimmage, setting the tone for New Providence’s 34-7 laugher over Belvidere in Mid-State 38 Union Division action at Domenick Colangelo Stadium Friday night.

With 68 points for though their first two games, the Pioneers have taken over sole possession of first place in the division.

New Providence newcomer, junior running back Ibn Nash followed up his varsity debut with another fine performance. Nash had eight carriers for 84 yards and is averaging 11 yards per carry this season.

New Providence will look to move to 3-0 when Dayton comes to Berkeley Heights Friday night.
