High school baseball: Postseason slate begins Saturday

The high school postseason starts Saturday night, with Class 2-A and 1-A district games.
Teams are hoping to finish at the state tournament, which begins July 26.
Class 4-A and 3-A teams start the postseason on Friday.
Class 2-A top-ranked Beckman of Dyersville received a bye and opens with a district semifinal against Bellevue or Clayton Ridge/Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Class 1-A No. 1 Mason City Newman starts play on Tuesday against CAL of Latimer or Northwood-Kensett.
Defending 4-A state champ and No. 1-ranked Ankeny will host a substate quarterfinal against Des Moines Hoover at 7 p.m. Friday.
Class 3-A No. 1 Sioux City Heelan faces Algona at Spencer at 5 p.m. Friday.
