And Brandon Murphy makes four.
After Murphy said Wednesday that he plans to sign with Indiana State, the G.W. Carver boys basketball team has four Division I commitments on the roster this season.
“I think it will be good opportunity to go out of state and play,” Murphy said. “I loved my visit and they showed me so much love that I think I can make noise up there.”
The early national signing period for basketball opens Nov. 13 and the Wolverines will have a crowded agenda.
Demetrius Houston has said he’ll sign with Mississippi State and Brandon Austin says he’ll sign with Alabama. Junior Joseph Scruggs has already committed to Mississippi State, too.
Murphy was Carver’s biggest inside presence last season when the Wolverines finished 26-2 and reached the Class 6A semifinals.
The 6-foot-7 power forward was honorable mention 5A-6A All-Metro.
“I’m eager to get the season started,” Murphy said. “My main goal is to win a state championship because we left it up there last year. If we get a state championship, everything will be great.”
