DELMAR – Jordan Brown rushed for 69 yards and three touchdowns to lead Delmar to a 26-7 win over Seaford in Henlopen South action.
Brown scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter to put the Wildcats on the scoreboard, and they increased their advantage to 13-0 later in the quarter when Shane Leatherbury ran a punt back 73 yards for a touchdown. Brown added scoring runs of 13 and 5 yards later on.
Shane Leatherbury ran for 59 yards while Tre Leatherbury rushed for 63 yards. Adrian Matthews scored Seaford’s touchdown on a 5-yard run.
McKean 42, Conrad 0MILL CREEK – Darius Jones scored three touchdowns to lead McKean to a victory over Conrad in a nonconference game.
Jones ran 9 yards for a touchdown, ran an interception back 70 yards for another score and threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Steven Kellam. He rushed for 74 yards on the night and passed for 97.
Jaleel Heyward ran for 71 yards and scored on runs of 46 and and 10 yards. Louis Hall scored McKean’s other touchdown on a 35-yard run. Linemen Nelson Hernandez, Malick Diallo, Tug Hawkes and Nick Scarangelli led the defensive effort for McKean.
Indian River 46, Laurel 14DAGSBORO – Kiante Sturgis rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns as Indian River downed Laurel in a Henlopen South contest.
Sturgis scored his first touchdown on a 24-yard run in the first quarter that wiped out a 7-6 Laurel lead and put the Indians ahead to stay at 13-7. He later scored on runs of 1 and 81 yards.
London Tucker scored two touchdowns for Indian River on a 7-yard pass from Colby Dean and a 91-yard interception return, one of two picks run back for touchdowns by the Indians in the fourth quarter. Shaquille Hall had the other one on a 66-yard return.
H.F. Wilgus scored the Indians’ other touchdown on a 1-yard run. Reggie Green scored on a 1-yard run and Alan Lubiniecki tossed a 47-yard pass to Jared Johnson to account for the Laurel scoring.
