MIDDLETOWN – Junior Demetrius Word rushed for 138 yards as Appoquinimink posted its first victory of the season by downing Charter of Wilmington 13-3 in a Blue Hen Flight A game.

Senior Matt Johnson put Appoquinimink (1-9, 1-7) ahead to stay as he caught a 21-yard pass from senior Danny Livingston in the second quarter. Charter (2-6, 2-8) scored its only points on a 33-yard field goal later in the quarter but the Jaguars defense held the Force scoreless the rest of the way.

Senior Danny Poarch ran 1 yard for a touchdown in the third quarter to give the Jaguars some insurance.

GREENVILLE – Quarterback Michael Helton rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown to lead a potent Glasgow ground game as the Dragons defeated A.I. du Pont in a Blue Hen Flight A game.Glasgow 36, A.I. du Pont 14

Glasgow (5-5, 4-4) rushed for a total of 470 yards. Kwasi Amponsah ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns while J.C. Whalen rushed for 80 yards and Tyrique Woodland rushed for 75 and two touchdowns.

Woodland scored on a 4-yard run to wipe out a 6-0 A.I. lead in the first quarter and added a 2-yard scoring run in the second quarter to give the Dragons a 14-7 halftime lead.

After A.I. tied it up at 14 in the third quarter, Helton’s 5-yard run put the Dragons ahead to stay.

MILL CREEK – Keyjuan Selby rushed for 78 yards and scored two touchdowns as St. Georges rallied from an early deficit to defeat McKean in a Blue Hen Flight B game.St. Georges 50, McKean 20

The Hawks (9-1, 7-1) trailed 12-7 after the first quarter but took the lead to stay on Bowe’s 19-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Logan added a 90-yard interception return as the Hawks took a 21-12 halftime lead.

Quarterback Zach Wright passed for 105 yards and two touchdowns for St. Georges. Keyjuan Selby ran a kickoff back 80 yards for a touchdown and also ran for 9-yard touchdown. McKean finished its season at 5-5, 3-5.
