High school football roundup: Henderson's TD propels A.I. du Pont

WILMINGTON – Quadree Henderson scored on a 55-yard touchdown pass from Freddie Heard with 3:39 left to give A.I. du Pont a 22-19 comeback victory over Charter of Wilmington in Blue Hen Flight A action on Friday afternoon.

Henderson’s touchdown completed a 94-yard drive for the Tigers, who trailed 19-7 in the third quarter. Aaron Limberry’s 42-yard touchdown run in the third quarter got A.I. back to 19-14.

Charter punted on its first possession after the go-ahead score, but the Force got the ball back on an A.I. fumble. Charter could not get a first down in four plays and A.I. took over and ran out the clock.

Heard started the scoring with a 10-yard run in the first quarter. Charter scored 19 unanswered points on Muaka Lameck’s 5-yard touchdown run plus Mathew Oliver touchdown passes of 15 and 3 yards to Kamen Ross.

Perkiomen School 35, St. Andrew’s 12PENNSBURG, Pa. – St. Andrew’s fell to Perkiomen School on Friday afternoon. Garrison Hines caught two touchdown passes for St. Andrew’s, a 34-yarder from Ryan Bellissimo and a 41-yarder from Ryan Price.

St. Mark’s 31, St. Elizabeth 0 WILMINGTON – T.J. Brown rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns to lead St. Mark’s to a victory over St. Elizabeth at Baynard Stadium.

Brown scored on runs of 62 and 10 yards. Michael Catalano ran for a 5-yard touchdown while Zach Whitehead threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Kaczmarczyk and Jeff Richards kicked a 27-yard field goal.

Tower Hill 38, Dickinson 0WILMINGTON – Sam Murphy rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns as Tower Hill stayed unbeaten by blanking Dickinson in a nonconference game.

Murphy scored on runs of 12, 7 and 69 yards in the second half after the Hillers (9-0) had taken a 17-0 halftime lead. Quarterback Matt Smith, who rushed for 79 yards, scored on an 8-yard run and threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Knotts. Christopher Miller kicked a 27-yard field goal.

Caesar Rodney 43, Smyrna 0SMYRNA – Dominique Dorsey scored three touchdowns to lead Caesar Rodney to a victory over Smyrna in a Henlopen North game.

Dorsey posted scoring runs of 4, 5 and 17 yards. Naquan Watkins scored on a 30-yard while Craig Logan scored on a 23-yard run. Timothy Steindl booted a 25-yard field goal, and Seth Brosius tallied a defensive touchdown on a fumble recovery in the end zone.
