Sam Metcalf passed for seven touchdowns and 339 yards in Farmersville’s 52-12 win over Laton. Metcalf connected for three touchdowns to Joseph De La Cruz, two to Jose Solis and one to Greg Torres and Jose Cisneros.
De La Cruz finished the game with seven catches for 111 yards. Solis grabbed eight passes for 161 yards.
Anthony Azevedo led the team in rushing with 147 yards on 19 carries.
Lemoore 28, Mt. Whitney 21: The Pioneers gave the Tigers a scare in a West Yosemite League game in Lemoore.
Lemoore (6-2, 3-1), trying to stay within striking distance of El Diamante and Redwood in the WYL title race, scored 14 third-quarter points to take a 28-14 lead.
Mt. Whitney got to within seven on a five-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Brooks to Frank Chavez. The Pioneers got the ball back in the final moments, but a possible game-tying touchdown fell incomplete at the end of the game — just out of the receiver’s reach.
Daniel Alvarado had a 2-yard touchdown run for the Pioneers (1-6, 1-2) and Brooks also had a 45-yard touchdown pass to Chris Angulo.
Lindsay 45, Granite Hills 7: Alex Jara completed 19-of-27 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Cardinals to an East Sequoia League victory over the Grizzlies.
Jacob Hernandez had another big day for the Cardinals, finishing with three touchdowns. He returned a fumble 68 yards for a touchdown, and added a pair of rushing touchdowns. He finished with 87 yards rushing on just 12 carries.
Tulare Union 36, Delano 33: The Redskins improved to 2-0 in East Yosemite League play with a win over the Tigers in Delano. No details were available from the game. Tulare Union (3-4, 2-0) has scored at least 21 points in six straight games.
Orosi 53, McFarland 8: Daniel Torres passed for three touchdowns and 280 yards during the Cardinals win over the Cougars.
Isaiah Chavez, Raymond Estrada, Martin Aguilar and Tommy Fermin combined for 418 rushing yards.
