High School Football Teams Begin Practice

By

(WLTX) — Two days after the annual SCACA Coaches Clinic concluded in Greenville, high school football coaches were on the practice fields for the first day teams were allowed to hit the field.

White Knoll and A.C. Flora High Schools enter 2013 with new head coaches.

After four years and 37 victories, Dean Howell left A.C. Flora to take over the White Knoll program. A former White Knoll assistant, Howell takes over a program which is coming off its best season ever, 10 wins and a spot in the 4A Division I semifinals.

At Falcon Drive, former Ben Lippen head coach Reggie Shaw was hired to take over the Flora program.

In a scheduling twist, the two teams will meet in the season opener, but both head coaches know the season is bigger than that game and there is a lot of work still to be done before the teams are ready for the regular season.
