High school lacrosse playoff preview: Fort Collins Unified vs Kent Denver

Time: 1 p.m. Saturday — Location: Regis Jesuit High School

INSIDE SCOOP: The Fort Collins Unified Vipers might as well look at themselves in a mirror when they travel to Regis Jesuit High School for a second-round Class 5A playoff lacrosse game against Kent Denver on Saturday. The Sun Devils score better early than late. Check. They allow less than seven goals per game while scoring more than 11. Check. The Sun Devils have seen the good and bad sides of close games. Check. Now the question for the Vipers is if they can take all of those check marks, look at themselves in the mirror and win. One thing is certain, the Vipers must contain the Sun Devils’ leading scorer Jaden Franklin. The shifty freshman led Kent Denver’s football team to a state championship while piling up more than 2,000 yards and 28 touchdowns from his tailback position. Franklin’s quickness has been put to good use in lacrosse, as he has netted 34 goals this season.
