ECS defeated defending 7A state champion Venice 25-23, 25-9, 25-16 Thursday night. Ginny Moore had 10 kills and twin sister Schuyler Moore had 27 assists and four aces. Sydney Ferguson contributed eight kills and five aces and Savannah Tessier had seven kills and three aces. The Sentinels’ record is now 1-1.Bishop Verot d. LaBelle 16-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-18, 18-16: Verot rallied from two sets down, led by Ashlyn Brown’s 27 assists and 18 kills, Lauren Sheely’s 16 kills, Emily Hudson’s 13 kills and Alena Hernandez’s 19 digs. LaBelle’s Abbie O’Ferrell had 17 kills and Victoria Bass recorded 36 assists.Oasis d. Gateway 25-4, 25-12, 26-24: Oasis improved to 3-1 behind Danielle Bebber (8 kills, 2 blocks), Larra Bickelhaupt (14 kills) and Jordan Westendorf (7 kills).

Volleyball

Canterbury d. North FM 25-18, 25-16, 25-19: Senior outside hitter Carol Galloway had 13 kills and 17 digs and sophomore hitter Spenser Hornung had 12 kills and seven digs, while sophomore setter Courtney Halle had 26 assists and two kills for Canterbury (4-0) in a match Wednesday night.
