The Fossil Ridge High School boys swimming team won eight out of 12 events on the way to defeating Fairview 117-63 in a dual on the road Tuesday. Fossil’s Orion Huey won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.17, almost seven seconds faster then his closest competition. Huey also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.96 seconds.
George Hu won the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.86 while Ranon Pritchard won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:06.87. Fossil Ridge also won all three relays.
WINDSOR 104, MOUNTAIN VIEW 79 — The Wizards won seven of the 12 events in the dual, rescheduled from last week due to weather. All three Windsor relay teams had state qualifying teams. Ryan Kurtz had a qualifying time in the 100 free and Andrew Scott hit a qualifying time in the 100 backstroke. Kurtz and Scott had already qualified in all individual events.
Cole Mills won the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:03.68, Jacob Wiedeman won the 200 IM at 2:19.20 and Alan Whitehead won the 100 breastroke in 1:11.13.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN FALLS IN QUAD MEET — The Rocky Mountain boys swimming team hosted a quad meet at EPIC on Tuesday. The competition proved stiff as Rocky as Loveland beat the Lobos 216-70. Legacy beat Rocky 187-99 and Greeley West defeated the Lobos 197-87.
Loveland won all three of its duals. Rocky Mountain had two top-three finishes. Sophomore Timothy Landau was third in the 1 meter dive with a score of 172.88. The 200 free relay team of Jackson Allen, Josh Collier, Colton Prosser and Jack McCoy finished third with a time of 1:40.56.
