Dominique Mack hit a 30-foot shot at the buzzer in double overtime Monday night to give host Holy Cross a 64-61 victory over Central Hardin in high school boys’ basketball.
The Cougars’ Norman Ellis hit two free throws with 3.1 seconds left to tie the game at 61.
Then, on the ensuing inbounds play, Kenny Williams stole the ball and passed to Mack, who drained his shot at the buzzer to give Holy Cross (5-15) its only lead of the game and the win over the Bruins (8-8).
Holy Cross’ Jack Schmidt led all scorers with 28 points. He hit seven 3-pointers. Mack also contributed a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Central Hardin’s Dillon Glen led his team with 19 points.
* Whitefield 62, Campbellsville 56: Point guard Rachel Cowles went 13 of 16 from the free-throw line, including 9 of 12 in the fourth quarter, to help the host Wildcats (7-11) hold off the Eagles (6-12).
Cowles led Whitefield with a game-high 20 points.
Kelsey Blackwell had 14 points for Whitefield, with Rachel Hudson and Meghan Miller each scoring 10.
Campbellsville’s Heather Watson had 20 points while Keniyah Barnett contributed 11.
* Spencer County 41, Bethlehem 39: Mckenna Pfeiffer led the Bears (9-12) with 14 points to pull out a win over the visiting Banshees (4-9).
Mackenzie Hagan led Bethlehem with nine points.
