Eli Lasda scored four goals and Grant Osadchey added three as the fifth-ranked Ithaca High boys lacrosse team routed Elmira, 14-0, Wednesday in a rain-shortened Section 4 contest.
The game was called midway through the third quarter due to heavy rain and lightning. The Little Red scored six times in the second quarter to take a 9-0 halftime lead, and scored five more times in the third when the game was halted.
Jaedon Henderson added two goals and Charlie Estill had a goal and two assists for Coach Frank Welch’s Little Red, which outshot Elmira, 38-7, had a 27-4 advantage in ground balls and won 14 of 16 faceoffs.
Brandon Taft had four saves for the Express (0-3), and Matt Fricke was credited with one for Ithaca, which hosts 14th-ranked Corning at 7 p.m. Friday.
* Dryden 212, Lansing 241: Ryan Whitaker shot a 6-over 39 Wednesday to lead the Purple Lions past the Bobcats at Dryden Lake Golf Course. Jonathan Becker added a 40 for the winners; John Losurdo led Lansing with a 41.
STAC boys track
* Divisional crossover: Ithaca boys won 10 of 11 track events in Tuesday’s non-scoring meet at Susquehanna Valley. Mande Semon won the 100 meters in 11.30 seconds, and also picked up the Little Red’s two field-event wins, in the long and triple jumps. Dan Dracup, who won the STAC cross country title last season, ran a 1:59.30 to win the 800.
On the girls side, Ithaca got track wins from Lauren Smith (400), Silvia Franck (800), Lauren Trumble (1,600) and the 3,200 relay quartet of Emily Resmicen, Franck, Camille Bouvet and Jackie Cornell. Ihotu Onah won the discus (87-111/2) and Emma Denman won the long jump (15-93/4).
