CRAWFORDSVILLE – McKenzi Jordan struck out 11 while pitching a one-hitter to lead Southmont to a 10-1 victory over North Montgomery on Tuesday at the Class 3A Crawfordsville softball regional.

Jordan also paced the Mounties (16-10) at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Maddie Mills matched Jordan with three hits and also scored three times and drove in two runs.

Korbin Myers homered, while Payton Thompson, Shebi Madison and Morgan Laws each had two RBIs.

Southmont plays Lebanon in today’s second semifinal.

Carroll Sectional

FLORA – Nellie Andrews’ two-out single scored Makenna Cronk with the go-ahead run and lifted Seeger to a 3-2 semifinal victory over Delphi.

Cronk reached base on an error to lead off the sixth. McKenna Mitchell sacrificed Cronk to second.

The Patriots (9-17) never trailed after scoring twice in the first inning. Tori Munson doubled home Mitchell, who had reached on a single. Andrews followed with a run-scoring single.

Emma Carpenter, Summer Sutton and Jersey Lattimore each had two hits for Delphi, which finishes 10-16.

Seeger will play either Clinton Central or Carroll in Thursday’s championship game.

Riverton Parke Sectional

MONTEZUMA – Ali Holmes pitched a three-hitter and Madison Hanson went 3-for-3 with four RBIs to lead Covington to an 11-1 semifinal victory over Rockville.

The Trojans (13-11) take on North Vermillion at 6 tonight for the championship.


McCutcheon 10

Guerin 0

Justin Curry hit a grand slam to trigger a seven-run fourth inning for the Mavericks (19-9).

Consecutive doubles by Braden Giroux, Billy Loft and Logan Sowers increased McCutcheon’s lead to 9-0. Dylan Kiracofe’s sacrifice fly capped the outburst. Giroux and Sowers led the Mavs with two hits apiece.

Walter Talcott pitched a four-hitter and struck out four.

Clinton Central 10

Frontier 5

CHALMERS – Home runs from Jeff Scott and Dan Wyrick powered the Bulldogs to victory against Class A No. 1 Frontier.

Kolby Lopp hit three doubles and Brandon Gallinger went 3-for-4 for the Falcons (25-3).
