Junior left-hander Cam Lueder struck out nine batters and added two doubles at the plate to lead Trumansburg to a 7-4 victory against Moravia Thursday in Interscholastic Athletic Conference baseball.
Lueder, who had a no-hitter through 31/3innings, struck out nine in six-plus innings to earn the win for the Blue Raiders (6-3, 5-3 IAC). He ran into trouble in the sixth inning, but was able to escape with one run and the bases loaded.
He was pulled in the top of the seventh inning after walking the leadoff hitter. Moravia scored four runs in the last two innings, including three in the top of the seventh, for the final margin.
Dylan Haskell and Dylan Powers each had run-scoring doubles and another run scored on a wild pitch in the seventh for the Blue Devils (3-3, 3-3).
Lueder went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Trumansburg offense. Glen Addicott was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Colin Fellows added two RBIs for the Blue Raiders.
Moravia’s Sam Allen picked up the loss.
The game was to be played at Moravia, but it was moved to Trumansburg due to wet field conditions.
IAC boys golf
Dryden 216, Southern Cayuga 240: At Wells College, Jon Becker shot a 3-over 39 to medal for the Purple Lions (7-0). Ryan Whitaker shot a 43 for Dryden while Mike Killian fired a 46 to lead the Chiefs (1-5).
Lansing 218, Whitney Point 280: At Cornell’s Robert Trent Jones Course, Clint Herzod shot a four-over par 40 to lead the Bobcats. John Losurdo and Jack Stevens each shot a 43 for Lansing.
Mitchell Edson shot a 45 and Travis Miner had a 48 for the Eagles.
Marathon 226, Groton 360: At Stonehedges, Zach Brandstadt shot a 1-over 37 to medal for the Olympians. Cody Morrison had a 40 for Marathon.
Will Stoughton shot a 55 to lead the Indians.
Corning 10, Ithaca 7: At Ithaca, Derek Ayers improved to 2-0 for Corning, which scored six runs in the top of the first inning on Wednesday. John Peterson picked up the loss for the Little Red.
Nonleague girls lacrosse
Owego 12, Dryden 6: At Dryden, Andrea Zlinsky finished with four goals and two assists for Owego on Wednesday. Elizabeth Waters scored three goals and Vanessa Scott added a pair of goals for the Purple Lions. Marissa Ramos stopped eight shots in the loss.
