HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Madison field hockey pushes past Mountain Lakes

Senior forward Skyler Oates scored the game-winning goal with 2 minutes 38 seconds remaining in the game to lift the Madison field hockey team over Mountain Lakes 1-0 in an Independence Division matchup on Thursday.

With the win the Dodgers remain undefeated and improve to 7-0. Senior goalie Caroline Fassett made one save for the shutout. Senior goalie Lauren Oey made 20 saves for the Lakers (3-3-1).

Parsippany 6, Newton 0: Junior midfielder Katie Lips and junior forward Victoria Rossi each scored twice for the Red Hawks (6-0). Senior forward Krysten Mayers had a goal and two assists and Kelly Carmona also scored. Senior goalie Jasmine Chen made one save for the shutout.

Morristown-Beard 7, Pequannock 1: Junior forward Chelsea Kramer had a hat trick to lead the Crimson (5-1). Gabby Hyman, Samantha Chanzit, Vincina Bivona and Isabella Cuomo also scored.

Boys Soccer

West Morris 3, Parsippany Hills 0: Senior midfielder Dan Moylan had a pair of goals. Greg Pease made 12 saves for his first shutout of the season.

Mount Olive 5, High Point 0: Mount Olive senior Anthony Cerda scored twice, both off assists from Ryan Peterson. Peterson finished with two goals and three assists. Marauders senior Jeff Schafer made two saves for his sixth shutout (6-1-1).

Delbarton 1, Morristown 0: Senior striker Michael Moshier scored the lone goal in the 58th minute. Junior Scott Forbes made three saves for his fourth solo shutout (6-1-1).

Morris Knolls 4, Pope John 0: Morris Knolls sophomore striker Mike Chapman scored twice. Max Purzak made two saves for his third shutout (4-3-1).

Mendham 3, Chatham 1: Mendham senior Gavin Coutts scored twice in the first half. Brian Graham scored a second-half goal for Chatham.

Pequannock 5, Butler 0: Brett Dericks scored a pair of goals for visiting Pequannock (5-1-1) on Wednesday. Bill Troast made two saves for his second straight shutout.

Girls Soccer

West Morris 2, Parsippany Hills 0: Sophomore forward Emily Driscoll and Madison Schmitt scored to lead the Wolfpack (7-1). Junior forward Brooke Carty and Cassandra Montgomery each had an assist. Sophomore goalie Ilissa Webb made six saves for the shutout.
