Luc Sinon had three goals and an assist and Nicholas Gualtieri added two goals and an assist as the Ithaca High boys’ soccer team picked up its first victory of the season, beating Binghamton, 7-0, Tuesday night at Alumni Stadium in a Souther Tier Athletic Conference match.
Elias Gelver and Oseoda Airewele added a goal apiece for Ithaca (1-2), which outshot winless Binghamton, 32-1, and took all five of the game’s corner kicks.
Geoffrey Twardokos stopped the only shot he faced to get the shutout; Binghamton goalkeeper Brandon Hyde made 20 saves. Ithaca hosts Elmira at 7 Thursday night.
STAC girls soccer
Elmira 8, Ithaca 1: At Elmira, Sierra Barr had three goals and two assists as the Express improved to 4-0 with a Southern Tier Athletic Conference victory over Ithaca.
Meredith Fennell added two goals and an assist for Elmira. Tianna Hatch-Dailey, Shelby Gross and Sariah Waters added a goal each.
Deanna Deyhim had the lone goal for the Little Red (1-4), while keeper Amy Shmoys made nine saves. Ithaca travels to Horseheads Monday.
Vestal 198, Ithaca 237: At the Links at Hiawatha Landing, Jared Reester and Nick Barney both shot 2-over 38 to lead the Golden Bears (5-1) past the Little Red (1-4). Collyn Shippos shared medalist honors with a 38 for Ithaca, which hosts Union-Endicott Thursday at Cornell’s Robert Trent Jones course.
Trumansburg 3, Groton 0: Wednesday at Groton, Hayley Sherwood and four aces, 10 assists and six kills to help lead the Blue Raiders to a straight-sets victory over the Indians. Game scores were 25-8, 25-11 and 25-17.
Anna Shelley added five aces and a kill for the Blue Raiders (2-0).
