Madeline Lilly finished more than a minute ahead of the field, leading the Twin Lakes girls cross country team to a narrow victory over Seeger at the Benton Central Sectional on Tuesday.

Lilly won in 18 minutes, 43.47 seconds, well in front of Seeger’s Cara Fowler (19:44.50). The two teams combined to take 12 of the top 13 individual spots, with a 10th-place finish from Jennifer Rios clinching a tight 27-30 win for the Indians.

Twin Lakes and Seeger both advanced to Saturday’s Harrison Regional, with Fountain Central, North White and Tri-County also moving on.

The Indians won the boys meet a little more handily, riding a first-place finish from Kody Snyder to an easy victory over runner-up Tri-County. Twin Lakes sealed the meet by taking ninth through 12th overall behind Snyder, who finished in 16:37.94. Benton Central, Seeger and Crawfordsville will join the Indians and Cavaliers at the regional meet.

At the Rensselaer Regional, Mickayla Wenzel finished first overall to help the West Central girls advance to the New Prairie Regional. Rensselaer and North Newton also moved on by placing third and fifth, respectively.

In the boys race, North Newton (fourth) and Rensselaer (fifth) both earned regional spots.
