Senior captain Jason Yahn scored two goals to lead the undefeated Lansing boys’ soccer team to a 6-1 victory against Union Springs on Thursday in Interscholastic Athletic Conference North Division play.
Senior captain Andy Parkes and junior Alex Purcell both had a goal and an assist for the Bobcats (11-0), the top-ranked Class C team in the state. Lansing has outscored its opponents by a combined 60-4.
Alex Schutz and Ben Eisenhut also scored for the winners, who got two saves from junior goakeeper Bryce Stanhope.
Andrew Head scored for Union Springs (4-8), while Meyson Paz made 14 saves. The Wolves were outshot 24-4.
Lansing hosts Groton on Monday and 17th-ranked Trumansburg on Wednesday, which will be Senior Night at Sobus Field.
Union Springs tackles another tough opponent today when it hosts Dryden (9-2) at 4:30 p.m.
Whitney Point 5, Moravia 0: Zachary Marsh had a hat trick and Riley Abrahamson added a goal and two assists to lead the Eagles. Brady Harrington had the other Whitney Point goal, while Matthew Pardoe had an assist. Dillian Jones (1 save) and Mitchell Taggart (3 saves) combined on the shutout for the Eagles, who had a 19-4 edge in shots.

Horseheads 5, Ithaca 2: On Thursday at Ithaca, Zoe Merod at second singles and the duo of Grace Wolczanski and Maya Jones at third doubles were winners for the Little Red.
Edison 3, Newark Valley 0: At Elmira Heights, the Spartans (11-1) swept the Cardinals, 25-8, 25-19 and 25-16. Katelyn Warren led the winners with eight kills while Molleigh Malanoski added 11 assists and four aces. Newark Valley was led by Anyann Wing (7 digs, 2 aces) and Madi Obregon (5 assists).
Newfield 3, O-M 2: At Newfield, the Trojans won the IAC match over Odessa-Montour, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18, 18-25, 25-16. Ke’Andra Malone had eight aces and 11 kills, and Katie McKee had seven aces and seven kills. Victoria Ayers had four aces and three kills for O-M.
Waverly 3, Spencer-Van Etten 0: At S-VE, the Wolverines swept the IAC match, 25-13, 25-15, 25-22. Jordan Raupers led Waverly (10-2) with seven aces, nine assists and seven digs.
Tioga 3, Candor 1: The Tigers improved to 10-1 with a four-set victory over the Indians, 25-11, 18-25, 25-9 and 25-14. Lexi Swagler had seven kills and Malley Bowen had 17 assists, eight digs and 12 service points to lead the winners. Alex Aman had seven kills, and Shania Shaver had three kills and eight assists for the Indians (4-5).
Lansing 64, Odessa-Montour 30: On Thursday at Odessa-Montour, Lansing swimmers won all 11 events, led by Adele Ferris, who won the 100- and 200-yard freestyles and swam a leg on the Bobcats’ winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
Dryden 114, Watkins Glen 71: At Dryden, Jainyn Wood and Erin Daley both won two individual events to lead the Purple Lions (4-1) past the visiting Senecas (1-1). Wood won the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, and Daley took 50 free and 100 backstroke. Sam Gill (100 butterfly), Alexis Castellaneta (diving) and Katherine Meehan (100 breaststroke) scored the Glen’s victories.
