A game originally set for March 21 is today, although the Kickapoo at Ozark matchip could be in jeopardy because of weather.

Despite being under .500, Kicakpoo is the No. 1 seed in Class 3 District 12. Ozark is No. 3 in District 11 and will play rival Nixa on May 14 in the first round.

Track and field

District meets for Class 1 and 2 will take place throughout the state.

In Class 1, Midway and Skyline will host local teams in a meet.

In Class 2, Cuba, Lamar and Fair Grove are scheduled to host meets.

Boys tennis

The Branson tennis team, led by a 15-1 record by Chas Bartram this year at No. 6 singles, won the Central Ozark Conference title.

Monday, the Class 2 District 11 team district begins with Nixa playing Kickapoo and Ozark taking on Parkview.

Central is the No. 1 seed and Branson is No. 2. Branson will host the District 11 individual tournament on May 11.

Rescheduled from Thursday, Glendale will host Joplin in an Ozark Conference game.

Author Ethan Bryan also will be signing copies of his book, “Striking out ALS: A Hero’s Tale,” written in part about former Glendale coach Howard Bell, who died March 29 after a battle with ALS.

Girls soccer

Ozark Conference and city rivals will meet as Glendale will be at Kickapoo.

Both teams will be the No. 1 seeds later this month in their Class 3 districts, but the Chiefs/Falcons game is always nearly as big as the postseason every year.
