High school volleyball: Roosevelt sweeps Yankton

Maggie DeJong’s 21 kills and seven blocks sparked third-ranked Class AA Roosevelt to a 25-14, 25-13, 25-15 victory over Yankton on Tuesday at Roosevelt.

Tagyn Larson added 10 kills and seven digs for Roosevelt (9-4). Erinn Temple had 32 assists, while Temple and Paige Rome each had three aces.

RHS is host to Aberdeen Central on Friday.

For Yankton (1-7), Becky Frick had two kills and seven blocks and Paige Thieman had three aces and 11 set assists. Haley Mines had 10 digs. The Gazelles are host to AC on Saturday.

WATERTOWN DEF. LINCOLN 18-25, 25-21, 25-11, 25-21 in Sioux Falls – McKenzie Werner had 14 kills to lead the Arrows (5-3). Holly Becking was 9-for-10 serving with 12 kills, four blocks and two aces. Sydney Dale had 24 assists and 13 digs. Megan Pfeifer had 15 digs. Watertown visits Pierre on Thursday. For Lincoln (3-6), Steph Buss had 13 kills and 6 blocks. Izzy VanVeldhuizen had 17 assists and 13 digs. Madison Mechels had 13 digs and Lauren Hoyne nine assists. Lincoln plays next in the Sanford Classic on Saturday.

HARRISBURG DEF. BROOKINGS 13-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-18, 15-7 in Brookings – Brookings did not report stats for Harrisburg (3-6). For Brookings (2-6), Hannah Stuart had 24 digs. Sara Tvedt had seven kills and four blocks. Jenna Thomas had 23 assists. Brookings visits O’Gorman on Thursday.

GARRETSON DEF. DELL RAPIDS 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 in Dell Rapids – Chayce Brinkman had four aces and 18 set assists for the Blue Dragons. Haley Edmundson had seven kills, Teila Carnicle 15 digs and Brianna Duerr three blocks. Garretson (4-9) visits Chester on Thursday. Peyton Heitkamp 6 kills. ABERDEEN CENTRAL 22-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-10 in Aberdeen – Halee Allerdings had 14 kills, 11 digs, two aces and a block to lead the No. 5 Class AA Tigers (6-2) past No. 1 Aberdeen Central. Jacey Hupp had 20 digs, eight kill and a block. Kelly McCarty had 36 assists, 10 digs and three aces. Asia King had eight kills and three aces. For Aberdeen Central (8-1), Brianna Kusler had 15 kills and three blocks. Bridget White had 15 kills, Meggie Hanson 19 digs and Maddie Goetz 29 assists. Kendall McDaniel had six aces. DAKOTA VALLEY DEF. WEST CENTRAL 25-14, 25-9, 25-13 in North Sioux City – Erica Johnson had 16 digs, nine kills and five aces to lead No. 2 Class A Dakota Valley (11-1). Lindsey Smith had 34 assists, four aces and two blocks. Hannah Bauer had 10 digs, seven kills and five aces. Meg Williams had 12 digs.
