Jeff Htam, who led off the home seventh with a double, scored on Chris Hernandez’s single to lead the Monroe High School baseball team to Thursday’s 1-0 victory over Sayreville.

Jon Rodriguez earned the win with one scoreless inning of relief. Starter Andrew Cohen fanned 10, walked one and yielded one hit over six innings for Monroe.

The Falcons (6-7) mustered just three hits off Sayreville (9-4) pitcher Vinnie Enea.

J.P. Stevens 12, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2: Junior shortstop Joe Seicinski went 4-for-4 with a single, two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI for the Hawks (4-11). Charlie Fallon struck out four, walked two and surrendered four hits for the win. Chris Lee, Siecinski and Dario Brzozowski combined for seven hits and eight RBI. Scotch Plains-Fanwood is 8-3.

Dunellen 7, Piscataway 0: Senior righty Casey Wenzel (4-0) pitched a complete-game, one-hitter, striking out eight and walking five and Dunellen improved to 10-1. He also had two hits and a run scored. David Johnson also had two hits and scored two runs. Adam Tricarico had Piscataway’s hit. The Chiefs are 4-9.

Colonia 10, Carteret 8: Chris Growney pitched a five-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts. Scott Durkin went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Vincent Ferrentino singled, doubled, had an RBI and scored three runs.

Timothy Christian 14, Piscataway Tech 4: Ricky Park struck out six and allowed six hits to pace Timothy Christian (2-8). Luke Cruver had three hits and two RBI and Matt Lau chipped in with two hits and three hits. Tech is 0-11.

Spotswood 10, Linden 7: The Chargers scored six runs in the sixth to erase a 4-0 deficit. Corey Brown (2-for-5) had a two-run double during the rally. Ryan Walker’s two-run single gave the Chargers a 6-4 lead. Spotswood tacked on four more runs in the seventh. Reliever Joe Adinolfi (1-3) worked the fifth frame to earn the win.

Sussex Tech 3, East Brunswick Tech 2: Losing pitcher Luis Ramos singled and scored for the Tigers, while teammate Anthony Forgue went 2-for-2.
