Matawan improved to 6-3 with a 20-0 win over host Raritan (3-6) in an NJSIAA consolation game Friday night.
For Matawan, Devon Spann scored on a 1-yard run, Shawn Ramcheran caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Justin Ferrara, and Mike Creamer kicked 32- and 30-yard field goals.
HOLMDEL 14, RED BANK 13: Mark Scherzer and Frank Dondito scored touchdowns for the visiting Hornets (2-7) in their win over the Bucs (1-8).
Scherzer scored on a 6-yard run in the second quarter. Dondito scored on a 9-yard burst in the third quarter.
Holmdel senior outside linebacker Matt Dixon recovered two fumbles and added two sacks for 17 yards lost.
TR EAST 34, CLEARVIEW 20: Senior quarterback Paul Aliseo threw two touchdowns and scored on a 1-yard run for the visiting Raiders (3-6).
Matt Gudzak ran 35 yards for one score. Jerry Caporale returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown and made four of five extra-point kicks.
JACKSON LIBERTY 14, HAMILTON EAST 0: Brendan Busacca and Bruce Almodovar scored touchdowns for the host Lions (4-5) in their win over the Spartans (2-7).
Busacca scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter. Almodovar added a 35-yard dash in the third quarter.
LENAPE 21, SOUTHERN 2: The play of senior defensive end Mason Fazekas was not enough to prevent the host Rams (4-5) from dropping a decision to the Indians.
Fazekas’ second-quarter sack from the Lenape 7-yard line resulted in a safety, cutting the Rams’ deficit to 7-2 with 10:46 left. Fazekas finished with five solo tackles and two sacks to push his total to a team-high nine.
