IMS rally not enough in 5-4 loss

The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning, only to give up three in the bottom of the inning and suffer a 5-4 loss to Mediapolis on Tuesday in Mediapolis.

Aaron Ockenfels had an RBI triple in the inning and scored on a single by Tyler Messer.

Messer finished 3-for-4, and Cameron Gingerich hit 2-for-3.

IMS is 4-7 overall and 4-5 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

Monday

* HIGHLAND 10, WINFIELD-MOUNT UNION 0 (5): Josh Brase pitched a one-hitter with no walks and six strikeouts to lead the Huskies in Riverside. Brase also had two hits and two RBIs.

Derrick Stewart had two hits and two runs, Luke Mahler had two RBIs, and Jessie Hootman had two hits with a double and scored two runs.

Highland is 4-8.
