Grade: Senior
Position: Forward
Height: 6-foot-4

Athletic achievement: The returning Gatorade Player of the Year, she averaged 23.0 points, 13.4 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists per game this past season, leading the Bulldogs (20-4) to the Class 4A regional semifinals. A McDonald’s All-American Game selection and a WBCA All-American Game honoree, Mavunga has twice received Indiana Basketball Coaches Association All-State recognition. She concluded her prep basketball career with 1,739 points and 984 rebounds.

Academic excellence: Mavunga has maintained a 3.40 GPA. 

Exemplary character: A member of the Brownsburg High student government, she has volunteered locally as a church aide and as a youth basketball coach and mentor.


“Stephanie Mavunga is a real force and can truly dominate a game,” said Jeff Knoy, head coach of McCutcheon (Lafayette, Ind.). “We had no answer for her and no way of guarding her. She is the best player in the state.”

THE FUTURE: Mavunga will attend North Carolina.
