School: Reitz Memorial (Evansville, Ind.)
Grade: Senior
Position: Midfielder
Height: 5-foot-7

Athletic achievement:She led the Tigers to a 21-3 record and the Class 2A state championship this past season. Lachowecki scored 42 goals and passed for nine assists, recording at least one point in 23 of Reitz’s 24 games. The 2012 Indiana Soccer Coaches Association’s Miss Soccer, Lachowecki scored 16 goals in seven postseason games. A member of the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Olympic Development Program team, Lachowecki was an All-American selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. She concluded her prep soccer career with 113 goals and 47 assists.

Academic excellence: Lachowecki has maintained a 3.98 GPA.

Exemplary character: A two-time member of the ISCA Academic All-State team, she has volunteered locally at a food bank and homeless shelter and as club president of the Reitz Memorial Student Wellness Awareness Team.


“Gracie is a coach’s dream player but not just for the obvious reasons,” said Reitz Memorialhead coach Angie Lensing. “She had an extremely unselfish attitude toward the meaning of team, and her ability to compete no matter what was at stake or the opponent we faced was remarkable.”

THE FUTURE: Lachowecki will attend Miami (Fla.).
