He coached high school basketball for 20 seasons and won 334 games with 11 sectional and six regional titles. The gymnasium at Seymour is named in his honor. Silver Creek’s football program was bumped up to Class 4-A when the IHSAA released its latest enrollment figures and classifications for the next two seasons.

In girls’ soccer, Providence was moved up to Class 2-A because of the new success-factor rule. Providence won the state title in 2011 and finished as state runner-up in 2012. Silver Creek and Charlestown were moved to 2-A in both boys and girls soccer.

The IHSAA is expected to announce sectional assignments in April.
