ITHACA
Kevin Huang, Connor Cramton and Josiah Rawlings of the Ithaca High boys’ tennis team were all selected as Southern Tier Athletic Conference all-conference performers for their play this past spring, the league announced on Wednesday.
Huang, a sophomore, earned all-conference honors in singles, where he posted a 10-6 record at No. 1 for Ithaca. Huang also teamed with classmate Justin Milner to finish second in doubles at the Section 4 Class A tournament and at the Section 4 state qualifier, both in Binghamton.
Cramton, a senior, and Rawlings, a junior, both earned all-conference nods in doubles. Cramton went 16-1 at No. 1 doubles this year for IHS, and teamed with seventh-grader Michael Zhao to finish third in doubles at the Section 4 Class A tournament. Rawlings posted a 15-1 mark at No. 1 doubles this spring.
Five other Ithaca players earned all-West Division honors. Milner was honored in singles; he finished 7-1 at No. 2 singles this year. And freshman Steven Carman (17-0 record), Zhao (16-0), junior Aleksa Basara (17-0) and sophomore Tigran Mehrabyan (16-1) all earned all-conference laurels in doubles.
Ithaca High finished the regular season 17-0, extending its dual match unbeaten streak to 27, and captured its second straight STAC title.
