Jaeger scores 7, North Hunterdon edges Hillsborough

Senior midfielder Caroline Jaeger racked up seven goals on Saturday morning to lead the North Hunterdon High School girl lacrosse team, ranked No. 5 in the Courier News Top 5, past No. 3 Hillsborough, 15-14, at Singley Field in Annandale.

Junior midfielder Allison Lane netted four goals and junior midfielder Julia Wood posted three goals and two assists for the Lions (3-0). Junior goalie Madison Martino turned aside eight shots in the victory.

Hillsborough (0-3) was paced by senior midfielder Kristina Dunphey’s five goals and one assist and junior attack Erika Cavallo scored five times. Sophomore midfielder Megan Miller notched three goals and one assist and junior goalie Shannon Oryniak made six saves for the Raiders.

Pingry 8, Bridgewater-Raritan 5: Margaret Siesta tallied three goals and one assist and Lexi Chang scored three goals to lift Pingry (2-1). Avery Hatfield contributed two goals and one assist for the Big Blue. Rachel Yaney had a hat trick and Emily Howarth distributed three assists for Bridgewater-Raritan (0-3).

Old Bridge 10, Monroe 9: Caitlyn Nemeth pumped in five goals to power Old Bridge (3-0). Brianna McCormack and Erin Honan each netted two goals for the Knights. Danielle Tomminelli scored four goals and Caress Fenton had three goals and two assists to lead Monroe (0-2). Melissa Salvadore had one goal and one assist for the Falcons.

Caldwell 17, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 9: Haley Regan scored three goals and added two assists and Elsa Leistikow scored three goals to lead Scotch Plains-Fanwood (0-3). Jessie Klein had one goal and two assists and Ailene McNamara had one goal and one assist for the Raiders.

Mendham 10, Westfield 5: Elizabeth Cusick had two goals, six ground balls and four draw controls and Courtney Weisse dished out three assists but Westfield fell to 2-1. Mallory Weisse made eight saves for the Blue Devils.

Columbia 17, Governor Livingston 5: Julia Martin netted a hat trick to lead Governor Livingston (0-3). Nicole Bendush had one goal and one assist and Ryan Shepherd added one goal for the Highlanders.

South Brunswick 14, East Brunswick 10: Elle Hvozdovic racked up a game-high seven goals to power South Brunswick (3-0), which trailed 5-3 at halftime. Kelly Ciabattone and Anne Marie Rolwood scored two goals each while Marissa Cavett and Nicole Deinzer each had one goal and one assist each for the Vikings. Courtney Donlon scored two goals and added two assists and Carissa Smith added two goals for East Brunswick (1-2). Kayla Kennedy had one goal and two assists and Devon Hilleman contributed one goal and one assist for the Bears.

North Brunswick 16 South Plainfield 4: Samantha Mehalick netted 5 goals and added one assist to lead North Brunswick (1-1). Jessican Feiner and Lindsay Hoagland had three goals apiece for the Raiders, while goalie Kate Lonczak finished with 10 saves to break the 300 career save mark. Emilly Pittenger lead South Plainfield (0-3) with three goals including the 100th of her career.

New Providence 17, Union Catholic 6: Nicole Sanczyk paced New Providence (1-2) with five goals and three assists while Dominque Iacovelli scored four goals and added two assists. Jill Balog netted two goals and added three assists and Emily Molstad added two goals for the Pioneers. Morgan Sosnowski netted two goals to pace Union Catholic (0-3). Kayla Brande and Madison Felton combined to make 14 saves for the Vikings.

Montgomery 7, Hunterdon Central 5: Natalie Colonna scored three goals and added two assists to pace Montgomery (2-1), which led 5-2 at halftime. Tori Rudo had two goals, one assist and four ground balls for the Cougars. Catherine Killian turned aside seven saves in the victory. Kira Greer had a hat trick to lead Hunterdon Central (1-2). Stephanie Delliturri made nine saves for the Red Devils.
