Detroit East English Village’s Marqywell Jackson hit the game winning shot with two seconds left in regulation to pick up the 75-73 win at the Dorian Dawkins Show Your Heart Memorial Classic.

“We had to battle back after being down by 16 points,” coach Juan Rickman said.

Jackson led East English Village (8-4) with 30 points.

Antoine Benford added 19 points. Justin Bernard led Ypsilanti (7-2) with 24 points. Village snapped Ypsilanti’s three game-winning streak.

East English Village’s Freshman Kamari Newman had 17 points, 13 of which were scored in the fourth quarter.

“Marqywell Jackson and Kamari really stepped up in the fourth quarter, “Rickman said.

East English Village will host Detroit Mumford on Tuesday.

Ecorse 59, Allen Academy 51 (OT): Ecorse’s (3-7) Jovan Wasson scored 22 points and grabbed five boards. Darrius Canty added 15 points and 12 boards. Jason Williams led Academy (3-5) with 16 points.

Detroit Cass Tech 55, Walled Lake Western 34: DeAngelo Stewart led Detroit Cass Tech (10 PSL East). Kyle Steward scored 15 points. Mike Laster added 13 points. Walled Lake Western is 7-4.

Girls’ basketball

River Rouge 61, Detroit Northwestern 41: Starr Harris led River Rouge (5-5) with 25 points, 22 rebounds, six steals and eight assist. Tamia Crawford added 11 points and 14 rebounds. Jasmine Conner led Northwestern with 24 points.

Detroit Cody 61, Dearborn Henry Ford Academy 35: Brigette Murray had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Cody (8-4). Ashlee Kennedy added 16 points. Arlettha Seale scored 10 points for Henry Ford (3-6).

Detroit King 58, Southfield-Lathrup 40: Janae Williams led King (11-0) with 14 points. Antania Hayes added 13 points. Sydni Davis led Southfield-Lathrup with 20 points.

Detroit PEC Prep 39, Dearborn Robichaud 35: Porsha Pettway led Detroit PEC Prep (4-4, 1-3) with 28 points. Dearborn Robichaud’s Shantel Jones scored 10 points. Robichaud is 4-6.

Flint Powers Catholic 71, Frankenmuth 38: Ally Haran led Flint Powers Catholic (5-6) with 18 points. Kim Berry scored 15 points. Sara Ruhstorfer added 12 points. Frankenmuth’s Keri Frahm scored 10 points. Frankenmuth is (8-3).

Arbor Prep 59, Benton Harbor 53: Zakiya Wells led Arbor Prep (9-3) with 18 points and nine assists. Amaka Chikwe scored 14 points. Ben Harbor’s Kalabrya Gondrezick scored 21 points. Kysre Gondrezick added 15 points.

Detroit Country Day 53, Toledo Central Catholic (Ohio) 50: Brittany Washington led Detroit Country Day (10-2) with 22 points. Asia Doss added 16 points. Toledo Central Catholic’s Sydni Harmon scored 18 points. Central Catholic is 8-6.

Inkster 62, Ypsilanti 40: Paris McLeod scored 30 points for Inkster (11-0). Torie Amerison had 10 points for Ypsilanti (5-5).
