Chef of the Week
In sports the term “cookin'” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s “Chef of the Week” award goes to Greenville (Greenville, Ill.) quarterback Tyler Hutchinson completed 43-of-87 passes for an incredible 648 yards and six touchdowns in a 71-70 win over Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, Ill.).
Yes, that’s a football score.
Smackdown of the Week
This award is reserved for the player who managed to unleash an eyebrow-raising, cringe-worthy, must-rewind blow that prompted a thunderous “ooh” from the fans in the stands.
This week’s “Smackdown of the Week” winner Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, N.C.) strong safety Eddie Petzke for the vicious hit he put on Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.) running back Lawrence Pittman last week.
Pittman was being taken down by one of Petzke’s teammates when Petzke came out of nowhere and delivered the crucial blow.
Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is Argyle (Argyle, Texas) kicker Cole Hedlund after making good on five field goals to set the national record.
Hedlund, an Arkansas commit, has made 51 field goals in his career.
