Chef of the Week
In sports the term “cookin'” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s “Chef of the Week” award goes to Parkway (Bossier City, La.) quarterback Brandon Harris for his 506 yards of total offense and eight touchdowns in a 79-56 win at Bastrop recently.
Smackdown of the Week
This award is reserved for the player who managed to unleash an eyebrow-raising, cringe-worthy, must-rewind blow that prompted a thunderous “ooh” from the fans in the stands.
This week’s “Smackdown of the Week” winner is York (York, S.C.) linebacker Dario Brown for laying down a crack-back block in a win over Fort Mill (Fort Mill, S.C.) last weekend.
Oh it was plenty vicious too.
Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is Gehlen Catholic (LeMars, Iowa) quarterback Blake Wiltgen for completing the most unorthodox pass of the season thus far.
Just when Wiltgen was about to get sacked by a North Union (Armstrong, Iowa) defender he somehow launched a pass, on his way to the ground, to no one in particular.
Somehow, Gehlen Catholic receiver Colton Kneip caught it.
This, you’ve gotta see to believe.
