Chef of the Week
In sports the term “cookin'” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s Chef of the Week award goes to Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) running back Devontae Jackson for making the most of his carries in a 44-14 win at Sprayberry.
Jackson carried three times, scored three touchdowns and racked up 217 yards in the process.
That’s right, 72.33 yards a carry.
Poster of the Week
This week’s Poster of the Week winner is Wilbraham & Monson (Boston) center Goodluck Okonoboh for the vicious alley-oop he threw down during the Under Armour Elite 24 midnight run.
Okonoboh ran the floor, caught the precise alley-oop from Tyus Jones and threw down a strong two-handed slam.
Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for a player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.) wing Theo Pinson for using his mother as a prop to win the Under Armour Elite 24 dunk contest.
Pinson positioned his mother just in front of the basket, leaped over her head and threw down a one-hander.
Getting mom’s help to bring home the dunk contest hardware?
Oh yes he did.
