Chef of the Week
In hoops the term “cookin'” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s Chef of the Week award goes to Wesleyan Christian (High Point, N.C.) wing Theo Pinson for leading USA Blue past USA Red, 81-77, in the adidas Nations title game Monday.
Pinson, a North Carolina commit, scored 15 points in the win and knocked down two big free throws with 15 seconds left in regulation to seal the win.
Poster of the Week
This week’s Poster of the Week winner is Saint John Bosco (Los Angeles) guard Tyler Dorsey for the vicious poster he created during the Fab 48 in Las Vegas last week.
Dorsey took a pass on the break and threw down a strong one-hander over a defender who definitely should’ve rethought the whole trying to block it thing.
Tisk, tisk.
Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for a player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is a little bit different.
We’re giving this award to Muscle Shoals (Muscle Shoals, Ala.) defensive tackle Dee Liner, an Alabama signee who recently posted pics of himself holding wads of cash.
As you can imagine this caused quite a stir on social media.
He’s since deleted the pic, but for so many different reasons it’s evident that he deserves the award this week.
