Lakewood-Jefferson beat Lyons 38-21 in a Metro League game Friday at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood.
The Saints took advantage of some sloppy first quarter play by Lyons in the first half. The Lions threw two interceptions and also lost a fumble in the first quarter, and Jefferson turned two of those turnovers in to touchdowns.
Saints quarterback Cameron Washburn threw three touchdowns in the first quarter as Jefferson took a commanding 21-0 lead early in the game. The Lions could not claw there way back in.
After going 3-85 since 2004, Jefferson is now (7-1, 5-1) and will try to cap off their regular season with one more win when they play Nederland next week.
Lyons is now (5-2, 3-2) and will finish their season against Denver Christian.
