Just five games into the season, the members of the Arlington High School boys lacrosse team have reason to feel confident about the remainder of the 2013 campaign.
Victories such as Monday’s 15-1 triumph at Red Hook show the Admirals that they are making the kind of progress needed to remain one of the top programs in Dutchess County, coach Don Connolly said.
“Games like today reassure the kids that we’re on the right track,” the coach said after his Admirals improved to 4-1 on the year with the win against Section 9’s Raiders. “We still have a long way to improve, but it boosts our confidence.”
Senior Kyle Dingman scored four goals to pace Arlington, which led 9-0 at halftime and only allowed one goal on the day, a tally from Nolan Dalton.
Junior Evan Doherty added three goals for Arlington, which also got two goals apiece from senior Danny Hanson and sophomore Mike Koenitzer.
“It was a great game,” said Connolly, whose Admirals host Mahopac on Thursday. “Everyone got in, and everyone got a lot of playing time.”
