LITTLETON – After losing two straight games in California, Mullen got back on the winning trail, defeating Arapahoe 8-7.
Arapahoe entered the game a perfect 8-0, but after jumping out to an early 3-2 lead, Mullen scored the next two goals and never lost the lead again.
Freeman Payne scored his second goal of the night with under four minutes remaining to give Mullen a two goal cushion, a cushion that would be needed after Arapahoe scored with 1:35 remaining to make it a one goal game.
With the win, Mullen now stands in first place with Cherry Creek in the Centennial League.
