Philo senior goalie Mallary Trout did all she could to keep Tri-Valley from finding the back of the net Thursday.
But the Lady Dawgs (1-0, 2-0) were persistent and scored two goals in the second half to earn a 3-1 Muskingum Valley League victory at Kenny Wolford Park.
Trout shined in goal with 27 saves for the Electrics (0-1), who led 1-0 midway through the first half on a goal by Emily Coakley.
Jana Cody answered late in the first half for Tri-Valley to tie it at 1.
In the second half, Layne Hartnell scored twice, once five minutes in on a Cody assist, then with 13:37 left.
Lauren Hartnell had seven saves for the Lady Dawgs.
