Harper Creek vs. Lakeview is usually a big enough game on its own when the two city schools get together, but this Friday the rivalry will take a greater meeting as the programs will join forces for a Coaches vs. Cancer event at Lakeview High School.
The varsity boys’ basketball and varsity girls’ basketball teams on Friday with Harper Creek going to Lakeview will be trying to raise money for the Coaches vs. Cancer program, with fundraising events at the game as well as selling T-shirts at school prior to the game.
The teams will be wearing yellow socks to support the Livestrong Foundation and the coaching staff will be wearing basketball shoes with their suits, as has come the symbol for Coaches vs. Cancer events.
For more information, contact the Lakeview or Harper Creek athletic office or be ready to contribute to the fundraiser on Friday at Lakeview High School.
For more on the game and why the city coaches are getting involved see Friday’s Enquirer feature in the sports section on the efforts by the two schools and their coaches.
